History & Aims
At the beginning of 2012, a group of highly respected Sexual Medicine Specialists from India decided to take action on the clear need and willingness to found a new professional society for sexual medicine in the South Asian region.
As a result, they formed a founding steering committee and worked on setting up the new South Asian Society for Sexual Medicine (SASSM), which was established in August 2012.
SASSM is the representative body overseeing sexual health in South Asian countries (The southern countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The western countries are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).
